The Awards recognise excellence in creativity, design and innovation alongside commercial success in a tough financial climate. The Awards judges selected an impressive shortlist including iconic British brand Ted Baker, designers Christopher Raeburn and Tatty Devine, and textile heritage brand Harris Tweed Hebrides.
Awards categories include the Hotel Indigo UKFT Rise Award for the most exciting new talent in the industry; the Let’s Make it Here UK Manufacturer of the Year Award and the Outstanding Achievement Award.
As well as being an energetic and enthusiastic President of UKFT, HRH is Patron of Save the Children, the chosen charity partner of the NatWest UK Fashion & Textile Awards 2013. Proceeds of a silent auction on the evening will go to Save the Children.
Fashion aficionado, Myleene Klass, with her best-selling collections for Littlewoods, Mothercare and Start-rite is the ideal host for the Awards. Fashion Scout, organisers of Fashion Scout London and Paris, and of Graduate Fashion Week, will produce a catwalk show featuring the work of the finalists and winners. This will be a true showcase of the great businesses and talent making up the industry today.
UKFT Chief Executive John Miln said: “We are really excited about these Awards and grateful to our generous sponsors for making this spectacular event possible. The Awards show the world that the UK has a vibrant fashion and textile industry and that UKFT is at the heart of it. UKFT works closely with many of the winners and it is great to see their hard work rewarded in this way”.
