Retail market of South Korea is flourishing with apparel sector recording the highest domestic sales in past few years.
Cotton denim jeans consumption increased significantly in past several years as represented by the soaring import figures.
Cotton denim imports in 2005 rose 52.7 percent in the boy's and men's sector to 3.562 million pieces.
However, imports of denim products for girls and women surged 58.4 percent to reach 10.051 million pieces.
In 2006 growing demand has further pushed up the imports.
Boy's and men's jeans sector in January-February period registered a 41.1 percent year-on-year growth while the girls' and women's denim products went up 62 percent in the same period to reach 628,630 and 1,721,354 pieces respectively.
