LCF announces winners of ISKO 'Design Denim' competition

The winners of the ‘Design Denim’ collaboration project with leading denim manufacture ISKO were announced by a judging panel at London College of Fashion.

Celebrating the significance of denim, the project produced innovative results, with the students proving that there are no limits when designing with denim. Final year students from BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear, BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Menswear, and BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Surface Textiles competed to win a three month placement at ISKO as well as cash prizes.

The winners announed were:

Zoe Chandler

Denim Future – Overall winner - 3 Month Placement in ISKO Creative Room, Bergamo, Italy. Flight, accommodation and expenses. £250.

Ellie Sweeney

Denim Innovation – Fabric Manipulation and surface experimentation – Cash Prize £250

Tina & Nikita Sutradhar

Denim Diffusion – Translation from luxury to ready to wear – Cash Prize £250

Edward Curtis

Denim Support – Award to support a new designers next steps – Cash Prize £250

In addition, ISKO invited Boo Pala, Julie Bjorkeheim and Emerald Dangerfield on an inspirational tour in Istanbul. The ‘Washion’ Tour is a specialist insight into denim, technologies, treatments and finishes.

All participants work will be featured in Denim By Premier Vision in November 28th – 29th 2013, Paris, France.
