The style of Lady Diana, the late Princess of Wales, will be showcased this month as a documentary which will look at her most memorable wardrobe choices, according to Channel 4 program guide.

The 60-minute-long documentary will focus on the story behind the ten famous dresses that were sold at the Kerry Taylor auctions in March, 2013, which were cumulatively bought for over £800,000.

From the Victor Edelstein gown that she wore to dance with John Travolta at the White House in 1985, which fetched over US$ 360,000 at the auctions to the black halter neck she wore for the Mario Testino portrait for Vanity Fair, the documentary is centered on the style secrets of the late princess, particularly the clothes that she wore during some noteworthy occasions.

Coinciding with the new exhibition at Kensington Palace which will showcase the clothes worn by Queen Elizabeth and Princess Margaret, the documentary explores the evolution of the princess as a style icon.

Titled ‘Princess Diana's Dresses: The Auction’, the film will also feature insights from some of her closest confidantes and style advisors, including Virginia Clarke, with whom the late Princess lived at the time of her engagement to Prince Charles; Condé Nast International vice president and senior editor Anna Harvey, who advised Diana on her royal wardrobe; and designers such as David Sassoon and Victor Edelstein - both of whom created iconic ensembles for her.

The program airing on Channel 4 on July 16 will also include archive footage and never-seen-before interviews to help explain Diana's fashion decisions, her influences and motivations as well as her popularity as a global style icon.
