The 17th edition of the Italian textile trade show ‘Milano Unica’ would be focusing on various prestigious events organized in partnership with The Woolmark Company, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

The trade fair which is scheduled to be held from September 10 to 12, 2013, will host a special edition of the ‘On Stage’ fashion show, a project developed to promote upcoming talent.

The show will be held on the opening day and will present six upcoming international designers, including J.JS Lee (Korea), Ostwald Helgason (Germany/Iceland), From Britten (Australia), Tillman Lauterbach (Germany) and Yang Lin (China) for menswear.

These designers will present their collections which have been developed with most innovative wool fabrics. They will be joined by special guest designer Andrea Pompilio, a representative of contemporary Made-in-Italy design.

The On Stage show will also coincide with the inauguration of ‘Campaign for Wool’, an initiative established in 2009, organized by The Woolmark Company with patronage by Prince Charles of England.

The objective of the campaign is to raise consumer awareness about choosing wool as a natural and eco-sustainable fiber, with the motto ‘Live Naturally, Pick Wool’.

To celebrate the Wool Week, the windows of La Rinascente department store in Piazza Duomo, Milan, will feature wool garments designed by Italy’s best fashion and design schools, supported by a series of in-store animations from September 10 to 16.

The upcoming September ‘Milano Unica’ will present F/W 2014-2015 previews and will host 428 exhibitors, which is a slight increase from the 417 exhibitors that participated in February 2013 edition.
