Tess Johnson shares: “Nolcha is such an amazing organization and I am honored to be returning. They are great at helping emerging designers have a fantastic platform to showcase their work.

"I had such an awesome experience last season. The runway show, the photos and the events have given my brand great exposure. I am ready to present an even better collection this season and it’s all thanks to Nolcha that I am able to do so!”

The Spring/Summer 2014 collection is named "Avalanche”. This collection features lots of custom prints like Tess’ last collection, as well as a plethora of textures and techniques to enhance the pieces. This collection is perfect for hot, summer days featuring dresses, both long and short, swimming suits and cover ups, shorts and crop tops and much more.

Tess comments, “During this process, I was able to really look at my past work and create a stronger collection. I have looked back at what I did successfully and what was not as successful, and with that, I was able to create this collection. I pushed some boundaries with the color palette and prints. This has been my favorite to design thus far because I felt some pressure from myself to create a stunning collection to top last season’s collection. I learned a lot about myself as a designer and I wanted to let that shine through. I want to keep people wanting more.”

The inspiration for this collection comes from nature; the cold, icy, mountain ranges across the world. Delving deeper, Tess was inspired by rocks, geodes, snow and the movement and interaction between the people and the mountain. Like her last collection Tess has created many of her own prints and draped a lot of the garments herself.
