Stephanie Carter, founder of the Judith March women's clothing line, announced the formation of Southern Fashion House, a new company to serve as the parent brand for her various fashion lines.

Southern Fashion House fills the need to have a core management and support team oversee Carter's brands including the Deja Vu chain of retail clothing stores, Judith March clothing line and the Jacque & Janis couture line.

"We have grown at a fast pace over the last couple of years with Deja Vu and Judith March," says Carter. "Our quick success is a blessing but this restructuring is an effort to take a pause and plan for steady, long-term growth rather than short-term results."

Carter says that one of the primary goals for the Southern Fashion House management team is to improve efficiencies throughout the design-to-production processes, a task to be spearheaded by CEO Christy Carlisle Smith, former senior designer with Kay Unger fashion brand in New York City.

"The process of taking an initial concept to a manufactured product is complex and time sensitive," says Carlisle Smith. "My first task will be ensuring the lines are designed and sold at the right time, manufactured in a timely manner, and delivered to our customer's stores when it needs to be there."

While with Kay Unger, Carlisle Smith, in the course of ten years, worked her way to senior designer, the highest position for a designer at the company.  Throughout her tenure at the company she designed and oversaw manufacturing for Kay Unger Evening and Phoebe Evening lines, eventually leading the team for redesign and launch of the latter.

Southern Fashion House will also manage the planning and launching of new lines including entries into the male apparel and home decor markets in 2014.

Southern Fashion House is a proud sponsor of South Walton Fashion Week to benefit the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County. Stephanie Carter will debut designs for Judith March and Jaquis + Janis on South Walton Fashion Week's Runway October 11-13 in Grand Boulevard's Town Center at Sandestin.
