Toronto, the stylish city which is considered as the major fashion hub of Canada, is soon emerging as one of the most sought after places for designers from all around the world.

The city recently hosted its first-ever African fashion revelry African Fashion Week Toronto, which was a delightful amalgamation of both signature African designs and culture.

Held at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre, the event showcased collections from designers based in African countries like Zimbabwe and Uganda as well as international locations like London, Paris and Amsterdam.

The four-day-long sartorial fiesta featured colourful eclectic collections from popular labels like Cathy Kay, Vicky Muzadi, Stephanie Owusu Ansah and Ms Ray Couture.

Other than the beautifully staged runway shows, the event also hosted hands-on workshops, fanciful exhibits, meet-and-greet soirees, fashion seminars and student designer competitions.
