After showcasing in Paris, London, Shanghai, Dubai, Berlin and New York, the travelling exhibit ‘Lingerie Française’ has made a pit stop at Toronto’s non-profit design museum Design Exchange.

With an aim to celebrate the 100 magnificent years of French lingerie, the event features creations from renowned French labels like Aubade, Barbara,Chantelle, Empreinte, Implicite, Lise Charmel, Lou, Maison Lejaby, Passionata, Princesse Tam.Tam and Simone Pérèle.

Slated to run till October 13, 2013, the exhibit displays more than 210 pieces of the most significant and iconic lingerie of all times—the oldest of which dates back to 1880s.

Curated by fashion historian Catherine Ormen, the tiny luxurious exhibits include ancient corsets and bras as well as models of modern innerwear ensembles.

The show also features a life-sized transforming-holographic striptease, depicting the development of lingerie against the evolution of female silhouettes.

The exhibition is supported by Defi-Mode De France, the Committee for the Development and Promotion of French Clothing as well as the association for the promotion of corsetry industry Promincor.
