Ideators invites six students from Sri Lanka and six from the UK to compete using their entrepreneurial skill and spirit. Ten UK and Sri Lankan universities have been involved in the programme, and this year LCF alumna, Lara Okanaya, MA Fashion Entrepreneurship, was one of the twelve contestants.
The Ideators champion, Udana Warnakulasooriya, who works for the manufacturing company, Hirdaramani Group, met with Dr Lynne Hammond, Director of Business and Management and Course Leader of MA Strategic Fashion Marketing, and presented his winning idea to current LCF students.
Udana came up with a product named Ugly Duckling and his idea was ‘Re-cut. Re-made. Re-born.’ – using damaged clothes to produce new clothes.
Ideators was created by the British Council to promote graduate entrepreneurship among aspiring Sri Lankan and UK undergraduates.
