Stars of Channel 4’s hit documentary, Fabulous Fashionistas, are to speak on the closing panel of LCF’s two-part conference, Mirror Mirror: Representations and Reflections on Ageing, October 29 – 30.

The documentary, which aired on Channel 4 earlier in September, explores the art of ageing with style through the lives of six extraordinary women with an average age of 80.

As part of the LCF’s ground-breaking conference, some of the Fabulous Fashionistas will be in conversation with LCF lecturer Amy Butchart, talking about their own ground-breaking attitudes towards fashion, ageing and fun on October 30.

The Fashionistas join a conference programme that includes leading thinkers, artists and performers who are each, in their own unique way, concerned with how we represent ageing and style. Photographer and blogger, Ari-Seth Cohen, and blogger, Alyson Walsh will be in discussion on October 29. On day two, Theatre company Small Things will host a participatory performance and leading academics will present papers on fashion and ageing.
