Fashion brand Prada opens first store in Orlando
Oct '13
Prada opens its first store in Orlando, USA, in the prestigious ‘The Mall at Millenia’. Designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi, the new retail space occupies a total surface of 370 square meters on one level.

The store offers the women’s collections of ready-to-wear, leather goods, accessories and footwear as well as the men’s collections of leather goods and accessories.

The visually stunning façade inside the mall is distinguished by a radiant resin “curtain” set in a regular pattern of polished steel sections. The structure accommodates the entrance, the main window and two display niches.

The interior is divided into a series of rooms, each of a different size and with a different set of materials. The rooms hosting the men’s and women’s collection of leather goods and accessories feature the typical elements defining Prada’s stores worldwide, such as black and white marble chequered floors, display niches lined with pale green canvas with saffiano leather shelves and polished steel trims and glass-and-steel display counters with coloured saffiano leather drawers.

The walls of the women’s footwear area are lined with green canvas with rounded corners and dramatic slashes in which the display niches are set. Beige carpeting covers the floor. The women’s ready-to-wear is displayed in a space decorated with clear perspex panels, fabric-lined walls and pale carpeting. The furnishings are completed by Prada’s classic glass and polished steel tables and softly curving green velvet sofas.
