Sports-inspired men’s fashion will be the topic of the forthcoming third edition of ‘Curso sobre moda masculina’, a conference that holds talks solely related to the menswear fashion industry, to be held in Spain next month.

Due to be held from November 15 to 16, 2013 at Museo del Traje, Madrid, the forum will analyze and discuss the relationship shared between sports and male fashion.

Renowned fashion professionals like designer Ana Locking, fashion editor of El País ‘Eugenia de la Torriente’, portal director of Modaes.es ‘Pilar Riano’ and costume history researcher Paul Pena will speak on the growing importance of sports-influenced trends that has taken today’s male catwalks by storm.

The forum will highlight the inclusion of sports-inspired designs in contemporary runway parades as well as the influence and future of sports-based fashion in urban and streetwear creations.

Sports and athletes have always played an important role in moulding fashion in the 19th and 20th centuries. Today many fashion industry powerhouses like Salvatore Ferragamo, Versace, Hermes, Lanvin, Ermenegildo Zegna and Gucci have taken cues from athletic-friendly styles to transform it into high-fashion outerwear and footwear ensembles.
