Christopher Bailey, the CEO and Chief Creative Officer of the iconic British luxury fashion house Burberry, was honoured with the prestigious Hall of Fame accolade at the just concluded 2013 WGSN Global Fashion Awards.

The Yorkshire-born designer was awarded with the recognition for his contribution to the international fashion industry and his role behind the overall image of the London-based brand.

Other than Bailey, the London Fashion Week regular Oliver Spencer scooped up this year’s Menswear Designer title at the international event, which recognises and rewards brilliance in fashion and retail design across the globe.

The covetable Womenswear Designer award of the year was bagged by Canadian-born British-Turkish fashion designer Erdem Moralioglu.

In addition to the winning fashion designers, the London ceremony also awarded Topshop with the Best Multi-Channel Retailer trophy and young fashion talent Emma J Shipley with the Avery Dennison Emerging Fashion Brand award.

Also, Sweaty Betty, & Other Stories and Acne won in the Sports/Activewear Design Team, Womenswear Design Team and Menswear Design Team categories.

The WGSN Global Fashion Awards winners are selected through individually casted votes by a panel of industry specialists.

The global trend forecasting agency WGSN helps fashion and accessory brands to come up with innovative ideas for new collections.
