Like every year, the American music industry celebs, dressed in their dazzling designerwear gathered at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles for this year’s American Music Awards, a show which honours musicians on the basis of votes cast by public and music buyers.

The young beautiful singing sensation Taylor Swift, who grabbed four awards including the Artist of the Year, Country Album of the Year for Red and Favorite Female Country Artist and Pop/Rock Artist, sparkled in a gold shimmering outfit in the event. Created by Welsh fashion designer Julien Macdonald, the ensemble featured a strapless bodice with a nude lining in front and a tiny skirt.

Katy Perry, the California-born songstress, turned up at the musical event in a beautiful dotted gown from Oscar de la Renta’s Spring-2014 collection. Adorned with pretty embroidered flowers, the dress included a fitted bodice teamed up with a full skirt.

Singer Naya Rivera opted for a timeless look with her Michael Kors gown for the ceremony. The luxe black outfit featured a cut-out back and a bold keyhole designed cleavage baring top as well as a fitted skirt with a long sweeping train.

American fashion designer and actress Nicole Richie turned heads at the event in her pristine white body hugging Emilio Pucci sleeveless gown, replete with strategically placed side cutouts.

Held annually since the year 1973, American Music Awards nominate performers based on their sales, airplay, activity on social networks and video viewing.
