Mumbai to host India Kids Fashion Week from Jan 18

After the tremendous success of the first edition, the India Kids Fashion Week (IKFW) is set to be held once again in the city of Mumbai, from January 18 to 19, 2014.

According to the IKFW 2014 website, the event, touted as Asia’s largest fashion show for kids, provides a platform for children in the age group of 4-14 years, to walk the ramp in creations of the best designers from the industry.

The 2-day fashion event is a foremost initiative to give India's upcoming and highly potential fashion fraternity for kids a platform to showcase their talent and make a mark in the international fashion industry.

The IKFW 2014 edition would be a 360 degree event for the kids’ apparel industry, where brands and designers will have an opportunity to establish a presence and reach the untapped audience by displaying apparels, accessories and more.

The last edition of IKFW held in Mumbai, in 2013, saw over 200 children walking the ramp, showcasing 20 childrenswear brands as well as collections from ace designers including Narendra Kumar, Nishka Lulla, Rocky S, Gaurav and Ritika, Nandita Basu and Payal Singhal. Star celebrities from Bollywood such as Sushmita Sen, Dia Mirza, Sohail Khan and more walked the ramp alongside little ones to extend their support to the event.

As part of the 2014 edition of the event, IKFW organizers would also host ‘Kids Talent Show’, in order to provide a platform to guide and support young talent. A variety of initiatives would be undertaken during the talent show to discover a child's hidden talent and all-round potential early enough for maximizing it.
