Gucci unveils men's A/W 2014-15 collection

The Gucci Men’s Collection for Autumn Winter 2014-2015 employs linear, graphic shapes, designed with a color palette in dusty pastels that culminates with monochromatic black.

An atmosphere inspired by Kris Knight’s portraits, this new chromatic landscape softens the silhouette’s sharp precision while black ultimately intensifies the lines for heightened sensuality. Innovative fabrications and treatments transform material textures – true to the Gucci man’s instinct for experimentation and unique choices.

Silhouette and Materials:
Purely graphic. Boxy. Classic materials undergo clever reworkings. Leather, Gucci’s original icon, is the protagonist in a collection punctuated by outerwear and biker jackets. Featuring a new super soft construction. On slim, Sixties-style sartorial pants, on jacket lapels, on coat buttons, on the velvet suit’s trim and on tuxedo pants. Nappa shirts over turtlenecks strike a contrast with suiting.

Casentino cloth from Tuscany’s own traditions meets neoprene lining for novel and elegant outerwear including Gucci’s signature marine peacoat. Wool, bonded underneath with fabric, turns knitwear into a deluxe sweatshirt. An oversized style pairs shearling with nappa lining, also seen on the overcoat. Velvet characterizes the evening suit, with leather trim, as well as hidden detailing on blazers and coats.

Colors:
Bold black prefaced by a game of pastels. Robin’s egg, sky blue, dusty pink, pale yellow, sage. Solid colors outlining crisp volumes.

Evening:
Darkened sensuality and monochromatics. Black leather on the velvet suit, double-breasted coat, shirt and the mohair tuxedo.

Accessories:
Casquette de marin caps for bohemian style and strong sensuality. In both leather and fabric with leather braiding. In sumptuously unlined calfskin or crocodile, maxi duffles or shoppers with burnished bamboo handles. Either black or pastel. To clutch. Thick soles for leather shoes featuring Goodyear construction – monk straps, fringe, and lace-ups.
