Big industry leaders like Christian Dior, Kenzo and Yves Saint Laurent capped off the five-day-long Parisian male fashion celebration Paris Menswear Fashion Week with its avant-garde Fall/Winter 2014-15 lines.

French fashion house Christian Dior’s menswear label Dior Homme presented a very subtle yet painstakingly-detailed collection on the final day of the event. Designed by Kris Van Assche, the collection featured grey pinstripe jackets, blue jeans, and spotted suits, ties and button-down shirts.

Drawing inspiration from a steel factory worker’s uniform, the Clothing label Kenzo, by Japanese fashion designer Kenzo Takada, featured an interesting line decorated with prints of spanners, nails and nuts. Co-designed by the brand’s joint creative directors, Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, the range showcased lapelled button down-grey shirts, boxy sweaters, suits, rainbow-hued pullovers and brown and bright yellow tops.

1980’s fashion played the major driving force behind Parisian fashion house Lanvin’s latest showcase. Alber Elbaz and Lucas Ossendrijver, the creative heads of the brand, designed a punk-inspired collection based entirely on slim narrow silhouettes. The high tech fabric made boldly printed pieces included acid-bright varsity-jackets, slim-fit suits, herringbone trenches and long skinny scarves.

American designer Thom Browne’s collection highlighted finely tailored garments with unusually frayed edges. His standout ensembles included grey suits, antler attached checked caps and rabbit-faced hats.

Hedi Slimane, the artistic director of French label Yves Saint Laurent, once again highlighted his signature androgynous skinny silhouettes at the glorious fashion event. The 1960s-inspired collection featured python shirts, pencil ties, black skinny jeans, metallic jackets, check scarves, draped coats and glossy pink tuxedos.
