Excess success and affluence in his early twenties as founder of the brokerage firm Stratton Oakmont warranted Belfort the title – “The Wolf of Wall Street.” Money. Power. Women. Drugs. Temptations were for the taking and the threat of authority was irrelevant. For Jordan and his wolf pack, modesty was quickly deemed overrated and more was never enough.

As a symbol of the jet-set lifestyle, DiCaprio’s Belfort and his friend and colleague Donnie Azoff, played by Jonah Hill, adopt the Gucci horsebit loafer, which features prominently in the movie and recently celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2013 at the time of the filming. This loafer has been the choice of international playboys ever since its introduction in 1953, and there is a pair in the permanent collection of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.
