Swarovski hosts fashion event at Austrian Embassy in India

Swarovski, together with Austrian Ambassador Bernhard Wrabetz, hosted a cocktail reception and dinner at the Austrian Embassy at 8pm on February 19, 2014. The event included an exhibition of stunning showpieces and extraordinary items by world-class international and Indian designers and brands from the worlds of couture, fashion, accessories and interiors, which show the creative versatility of Swarovski crystals.  
 
On February 19, 2014, Swarovski introduced a select audience to an exclusive and glamorous event entitled Swarovski Sparkling Inspirations 2014, where beautiful, crystal-adorned objects from a variety of creative arenas were showcased. 
 
Dazzling jewelry from the likes of Shourouk Rhaiem and Ben-Amun were presented, which were created for Swarovski’s acclaimed ‘World Jewelry Facets’ touring exhibition and are fresh from its journey to the US, France, China, Japan, and South Korea in 2013.
 
Alongside were superb examples of haute couture made with Swarovski crystals from designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Salvatore Ferragamo, Valentino and Giorgio Armani, together with crystalline footwear from Robert Clergerie. 
 
The unique joint project between Swarovski and Warner Bros that commemorated the 70th anniversary of the 1939 film, The Wizard of Oz, was also represented at the event. One-of-a-kind reinterpretations of the iconic RUBY SLIPPERS worn by Judy Garland were shown, made by some of the world’s top shoe designers, including Alberta Ferretti, Christian Louboutin, and Sergio Rossi.
 
Interiors items, such as crystal-decorated vases from Gaia & Gino and an iconic Moroso chair, were displayed together with a range of electronic products, among them a sparkling limited edition cover for the recently launched Galaxy Note 3 from Samsung encrusted with Swarovski crystals. From the world of cosmetics come an array of opulent crystal-embellished, limited-edition bottles, compacts, and mirrors from well-known brands, including SK-II, Lancôme and YSL.
 
A variety of leading domestic Indian brands also showcased their creations with Swarovski crystals. Exquisite couture pieces were shown from Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, Gaurav Gupta, JJ Valaya, Manav Gangwani, Manish Arora, Manish Malhotra, Ravi Bajaj, Rohit Bal, Sabyasachi, Shantanu Goenka, Suneet Varma and Tarun Tahiliani.
