Portugal Fashion gets ready for Fall/Winter 2014-2015 show

Several young and seasoned Portuguese designers will showcase their latest Fall/Winter 2014-2015 collections at the forthcoming edition of Portugal Fashion, scheduled to take place from March 26 to 29, 2014.

Lisbon-based designer Fatima Lopes will present her new nature-inspired line ‘Ad unnatural’ at the event. Taking cues from moss tree barks and cocoons, the designer has created clothes in structured rounded shapes and silhouettes.

Made using wool, cashmere, tartan, muslin and voile, the dresses, skirts and pants are based on a palette of earthy hues of nude, khaki mixed with specks of blue, black and metallic green.

Drawing inspiration from the works of Parisian photographer Georges Rousse, the Porto-based talent Luis Buchinho has created a very architectural collection for the upcoming event.

Made from pleated wool, tweed, double-faced fur and knits, the pieces are primarily based in shades of black and white with dashes of rose and other blush tones.

The Portugal Fashion started in 1995 as an ambitious route to foster a culture of fashion, which was practically non-existent at that time in Portugal. From the year 2000, Portugal Fashion bet on two distinct moments of fashion shows, similarly to what is done in international circuits.
