The final day of Paris Fashion Week opened with one of the most hotly anticipated shows of the season by the global luxury house Louis Vuitton.

The French label featured its first-ever presentation under the new creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere. The 42-year-old designer, who replaced Marc Jacobs in the house last year, created outfits in clean straight lines.

The pieces included wearable A-line skirts, cropped sweaters, glossy high-waist pants, wide caramel-colour collared black leather snap-front coats, colourful patchwork-adorned jackets, and leather bodices teamed with feathered knit skirts. The collection also showcased accessories like the tiny Petite-Malle bags and smart Chelsea boots.

Italian fashion house Prada’s high-end women’s clothing and accessory brand Miu Miu opted for a younger, sportier and school girl like look for this season. Based on sweet pastel hues such as pale pink, frothy green, baby blue and soothing yellow, the range showcased nylon jackets, hooded windbreakers, quilted minis, long striped raincoats and colourful flat rubber boots.

French leather goods specialist Hermès capped off the nine-day-long Parisian Autumn/Winter 2014 ready-to-wear extravaganza with its outerwear heavy range. Designed under the guidance of the label’s French creative director Christophe Lemaire, the collection displayed thick cream coloured double-faced cashmere coats, long sleeveless shearling tops, baggy oversized trousers and furry pantsuits.
