Nearly four shows and about two exhibitions from a set of fifteen new and experienced Spanish fashion designers were hosted at the just concluded Valencia Fashion Week.

Drawing inspiration from the colourful world of Aurora Borealis, fashion label Bibian Blue featured its latest Autumn/Winter 2014-15 collection. Titled as Borealis, the variedly textured line was heavy on satin, napa cotton, chiffon, gauze, sheer materials and feathers.

Replete with an extensive use of calfskin and sheepskin, the feminine pieces like skirts, shirts and corsets dresses were adorned with beautiful landscape prints in hues of violet, black, red garnet, green, Prussian blue, pink and magenta.

Designer Eugenio Loarce was inspired from swan, a bird that stands as a symbol of harmony, beauty and elegance, for his latest creations. Mixing elements of Spanish dance and cabaret, the designer infused swan imagery through vivid embroidery and details. Made using tulle, feathers and stones, the ensembles like sweatshirts and slim pants were based in black and white.

The never dying spirit of Rock n’ Roll music played as muse behind label Anillarte’s latest line Black Rebel which featured metal embellished garments made from mesh, leather and black neoprene.

Designer brand Virtues Langa paid ode to the strong women of today through the floral print heavy collection First Lady. Based on clean and straight silhouettes, the featured late 1950s and early 1960s style creations were capes, party dresses and skirts in black, gray and oil.
