Several local and foreign designers showcased their latest prêt-a-porter designs for the Autumn/Winter 2014-15 season at the just held 10th edition of Kazakhstan Fashion Week.

Staged in the largest and former capital city of Kazakhstan, Almaty, the event was opened by the famous Kazakh fashion designer Aida Kaumenovoy. Focusing on delicate feminine styles, the sunset yellow and celestial blue shaded dresses were made from lace and animal skins.

Designer Camila Qurbani featured a very bright and rich clothing line, replete with graphic prints, animal motifs and complex kaleidoscopic patterns. Some of the standout pieces included bodices, crochet numbers and corsets.

Influenced by the luxurious and sophisticated appeal of operas, the Georgian fashion brand Aka Nanita created its latest catwalk collection with sumptuous yards of silk, brocade and lace.

The second day of the event was kicked off by local designer Ajgul Kasymova with a collection based primarily on tones of black and beige. The featured pieces were fringed and floral tops, tights and buttoned calf-length skirts.

Ukrainian label Viktoria Gres showcased a line of sensual pieces with rich historical depths. The collection presented bright red collarless jackets, black evening dresses with fitted bodice and flower print floor sweeping skirts.

Fashion House Kiori took inspiration from the East Asian styles for its new runway creations, staged on the third and final day of the soiree. Re-interpreting the Korean national costume Hanbok, the line comprised of an array of printed fluid dresses made from bright iridescent fabrics.

Fashion brand E9 displayed pieces meant specifically for the smart confident women of today. The urban line consisted of flower print jackets, frayed denims, palazzos and tropical patterned skirts.
