The fashion design communities of Alabama and its neighbouring states will come together to showcase their latest creations at the forthcoming episode of Birmingham Fashion Week (BFW).

Slated to take place from April 22 to 26, 2014, the runway event will be kicked off by the seven finalists from the emerging designers showcase.

The opening day will also see a brand new collection from the 2013 winner of the Emerging Designer title, Elizabeth Singelton, who is known for drawing inspiration from artwork, architecture, history, literature and nature for her chic effortless sophisticated designs.

The second day of the soiree will showcase latest gymgear pieces from label Pure Barre, hiking clothing lines from Mountain High Outfitters and yoga and running garbs from Lululemon Athletica brand.

In addition to the collections from up and coming designers and fashion retailers, the event will also showcase ranges from the former Project Runway participant from Louisiana, Anthony Ryan Auld. Famous for his unconventional use of fabrics, the designer draws inspiration from the design techniques used by the likes of Vivienne Westwood, Basil Soda, Elie Saab, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Anne-Valerie Hash.

Lauren Leonard, the creative mind behind contemporary luxury womenswear label Leona, will also showcase her freshest collection at the event. The brand, which is sold in more than 100 international outlets, is favoured by famous celebrities like Taylor Swift and Giuliana Rancic.
