Croatia hosts first-ever Kids Fashion Weekend
May '14
Seeing the rising demand for quality children’s fashion in the country, the Croatian fashion industry had recently organized the first-ever edition of Kids Fashion Weekend, a runway event dedicated entirely to the local and foreign kidswear labels.
The two-day soiree showcased the very best and latest in children’s fashions, fabrics and accessories, designed by some of the eminent home-grown as well as international designers and textile manufacturers.
Held in the country’s capital city of Zagreb, the event saw a brand new clothing collection for boys and girls, between the ages of 4 to 14 years, from local label David. The nautical themed range showcased boat printed T-shirts, striped dresses, hats, skirts and two tone tights.
British brand Next presented a playful range, decorated with dots, stripes, watercolour prints and floral patterns. The featured pieces for the girls included dresses, skirts, pants and T-shirts. For boys, the line offered the American universities’ uniform-inspired sports and street styled ensembles in red, white and blue.
Famous fashion designer Juraj Zigman launched a new line of girl’s clothing named Zigic at the event. Adorned with cute motifs of butterflies and princess, the collection displayed printed t-shirts and dresses.
Children’s and infant apparel specialist Modna Kucica Dizzy opted to feature its autumn/winter 2014 designer collection made from lace, silk and leather at the fashion do. Replete with simple classic cuts, the haute couture like pieces were raincoats, coats, suits and formal dresses in tones of black, white, red and blue.
Fashion brand S.Oliver Junior chose to showcase a cute cheerful spring/summer collection, based in shades of yellow, green, pink and light blue, for babies up to two years of age, while the multibrand store Core Kids unveiled a high-end range of children’s garment and fashion accessories from world-famous brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Armani and Ralph Lauren.
