Famed French fashion house Christian Dior recently unveiled its cruise 2015 collection, designed under the guidance of the brand’s creative helm of Belgian origin Raf Simons, in New York.

According to WWD, the new 66-piece collection, which was showcased at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, is inspired from the label’s famous archived scarf designs and shapes.

Decorated with hand-made raffias, embroidery and hand painted floral and abstract prints, the range included sleek black pants, airy skirts, breezy silk tops, feminine lace dresses, architectural jackets and sculpted tweed coats.

Founded in 1946, the Parisian brand Christian Dior caters to the luxury goods market. The company is known for its haute-couture creations besides men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, leather goods, fashion accessories and other lifestyle products.

The 46-year-old designer Raf Simons took over the creative reins of the fashion house in 2012.

Apart from Dior, two other premium French labels, Louis Vuitton and Chanel, are also gearing up to unveil their Cruise collections.

Louis Vuitton’s newly appointed creative head Nicolas Ghesqiuère will showcase the latest resort line at the forthcoming Cannes Film Festival, which is due to held in Cannes, France, from May 14 to 25, 2014.

Paris-based fashion house Chanel will present its new cruise 2015 line in Dubai on May 13, 2014.
