Copenhagen Fashion Week reveals summer edition's schedule

Copenhagen Fashion Week announced the show schedule of this summer’s fashion week, which counts nearly 40 runway shows divided into an ON and OFF schedule. Among these is the official opening show, which for the first time ever is by a sustainable brand. The Danish/Faroese avant-garde brand BARBARA í GONGINI will kick off this fashion week’s shows on Tuesday, August 5 at 16.00 at Copenhagen City Hall.

Eva Kruse, CEO of Copenhagen Fashion Week, says, “The fact that Copenhagen Fashion Week chooses to open with a sustainable fashion show can be seen in light of this spring’s conference on sustainability, Copenhagen Fashion Summit and our general efforts to support the development of a more sustainable fashion industry – including a greener fashion week. The Financial Times proclaimed Copenhagen Fashion Week to be ‘the world’s greenest fashion week’ last summer – and that’s a title that obliges.”

Overall, it is a strong mix of brands that will be showing during the August edition of Copenhagen Fashion Week ranging from the new generation such as Anne Sofie Madsen and Asger Juel Larsen to the more established brands like Ganni and Henrik Vibskov over the classic fashion houses such as Mads Nørgaard and By Malene Birger.
