The New York Times International Luxury Conference will bring together some of the biggest names in fashion, art and technology to explore how these industries have become increasingly intertwined in recent years, creating new business opportunities. The event, now in its fourteenth year, will take place in Miami from December 1st to December 3rd 2014. This is the first time the conference has been held in the United States.

Hosted by Deborah Needleman, Editor in Chief, T Magazine, and Vanessa Friedman, Fashion Director, The New York Times, the two-day program will bring together more than 500 business and creative leaders from the luxury sector to examine how the fields of fashion, art and technology can be maximized to enhance the unique value of luxury companies and products.

Deborah Needleman said, “The conference will be an incredible forum for top business leaders, designers, artists, technologists and thinkers to discuss both the innovations at the forefront of their own industries, as well as the intersections and opportunities between their various fields.”

Vanessa Friedman said, “In the same way that The New York Times connects the world for readers, and to readers, this conference will look at how luxury connects to the rest of the world -- be it art, technology, invention or the environment. Through a vibrant mix of speakers from different sectors, we will trace the lines between the external forces redrawing the industry.”

The conference will take place at the Mandarin Oriental Miami hotel on the eve of Art Basel Miami Beach, the annual winter gathering place for the creative industries. Art will be a focus both on the conference program but also in the event space itself, with renowned curator Francesco Bonami inviting artists to present their performing work as pop-up performances which will function as surprising and entertaining intermissions at key points during the conference.
