Anushree's 'Portobello' recreates romantic old world charm

Nawabi designer Anushree Reddy has developed her signature style that often sees vintage flora fused with age-old Hyderabadi zardozi in order to recreate a romantic old world charm.

When Ralph Waldo Emerson said that, ‘the Earth laughs in flowers’, he could not have been more succinct. As a designer who has harboured a similar belief, Anushree Reddy has taken the age-old floral print and put a modern vintage spin on it. The creator of these nostalgic floral prints, this season Anushree adds the quirky spin on her heavily embroidered garments.

Inspired by the vintage market and the myriad of colours from Portobello road, the new collection is an ode to the designer's love for everything vintage and her strong Indian roots. The character of the Portobello market and its location encompass the old British charm giving birth to quirky elements and impactful rose prints. The Indian chapter of Portobello brings forth a new reign of vintage meets Indian influences by Anushree.

From elements of a vintage newspaper print to additions of a measuring tape print, Anushree is covering a whole array of flirty inspirations for her latest collection. The heavy, detailed handiwork coupled with the Victorian era prints lend a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ to Anushree’s new collection. The silhouettes are classic and timeless and the play on the detailing creates a niche for the classic Anushree Reddy garment.

The colour palette that Anushree fervently favours this season include dull and rosy pinks, sea green, tones of beige and lavender. The fairytale wedding saga unveils against a backcloth of fine satin, tulle, chiffon, raw silk and organza. The grandeur and stateliness of the Anushree Reddy Indianwear comes to life as the fall collection cascades down the runway. The collection pans across the entire gamut of Indianwear from stately anarkalis to splendid lehengas and edgy sarees.

Creating an alternate cosmos, which transports you to an era of classic florals and opulent embroidery, Anushree hopes to extend her design aesthetics to the dreamy bride and her posse of bridesmaids this season. For the woman with a head full of dreams and a belief in her fairytale, the latest Anushree Reddy collection takes you just a step closer.
