The intellectual property (IP) assets of Internacionale, which went in to administration earlier this year has been put up for sale.

The coordination for the sale of IP assets of the Glasgow-based company, which operated 150 stores at the height of its success, will be handled by Metis Partners, one of UK's leading IP specialists.

Assets in the Internacionale sale include a broad range of registered UK and EC trademarks, unregistered trademarks, the customer database, goodwill in the brand and reputation and the e-commerce website content.

Internacionale, the value fashion chain which brought attractive and affordable clothes and accessories to Britain's High Streets was operating 89-stores, when it went into administration earlier this year.

Metis is working on the instruction of the joint administrators, Lyn Leon Vardy, Toby Scott Underwood and John Bruce Cartwright of PwC, who were appointed in April.

Fashion from Internacionale has been greatly appreciated since the 80’s on the British shopping scene and has been credited with introducing the concept of fast fashion.

In its heydays, the fashion retailer created a significant impact on the youth market, bringing style and glamour at pocket money prices.

It introduced the Sophie line for children from six to 14, as well as own brands such as Denim 365, Miss Internacionale and Urban Edition.

Nat Baldwin of Metis Partners, who is organising the global marketing drive, said, "Anyone with an interest in fashion will be fascinated by how Internacionale opened up access to up-to-the-minute style to a much wider public.

"The company is still trending strongly on social media with more than 180,000 Facebook likes and more than 14,000 Twitter followers. We anticipate strong interest from fashion retail professionals and brand acquisition experts."
