Jabong debuts Miss Selfridge at Lakmé Fashion Week

The Indian online shopping destination ‘Jabong’ launched the young fashion section from the British department store chain Selfridges, Miss Selfridge, in India.

Showcased for the very first time at the just wrapped up edition of Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014, the web store staged a catwalk show featuring pieces from the overseas high-street label’s Autumn Winter 2014 collection.

Infused with the brand’s signature girly edginess, the range included statement pieces for clubbing and dance floor purposes alongside few casualwear pieces and some everyday wardrobe staples.

Bollywood actress Elli Avram walked as the showstopper in a bright red floor-length embroidered sleeveless dress with a detailed sheer neckline for the London brand.

Commenting on the Miss Selfridge launch, the founder and CEO of Jabong.com, Arun Chandra Mohan, says, “It is a matter of pride for us associating exclusively with UK’s top high street brand that exuberates on trend looks and is known to add that gorgeous edge.”

Jabong continuously endeavors to make overseas fashion accessible to the Indian audience at affordable prices,” he adds.

The Creative Director of Miss Selfridge Ms. Yasmin Yusuf said in a statement, “Miss Selfridge is incredibly excited to announce the brand’s launch in India in partnership with Jabong. I am confident that the Miss Selfridge brand and the fashion forward, fun and glamorous message that it encompasses will resonate with the style savvy Indian market.”

“Working closely with our partner Jabong, we will be recreating the unique and dynamic Miss Selfridge shopping experience for our Indian customers. Hopefully our presence in this incredibly important new territory will continue to drive our international expansion plans,” she adds.

The Indian fashion and lifestyle e-commerce portal Jabong is a multi-brand purveyor that offers more than 1500 on-trend international high-street and sportswear labels, as well as Indian ethnic and designer brands. Providing over 150,000 styles, the company also associates itself with major Bollywood blockbuster movies and brings in the new wave in fashion trends.

Founded in 1966, Miss Selfridge operates through a network of around 337 brick-and-mortar outlets nationwide and several websites across 24 countries. The retailer specializes both in pretty and feminine daywear and the high octane evening glamour.
