Washington label Àtiz Fashion House to show at VancouverFW

Swati Padmaraj, the founder of the Washington-based womenswear label Àtiz Fashion House, will feature her new science-based Spring-2015 catwalk collection at the forthcoming Canadian fashion fest that celebrates multiculturalism Vancouver Fashion Week (VFC).
Slated to take place on September 16, 2014, the show will feature eastern and western styles influenced pieces that have been developed using the designer’s specialized expertise in inorganic chemistry and structural composition of the molecules.
Replete with floral embroideries, intricate stitching, detailed inserts, translucent layering and form flattering silhouettes, the collection will include classic, elegant statement ensembles like trench gowns and dresses.
Padmaraj is known for combining her knowledge of both science and fashion into her silk, jacquard, tencel, rayon and linen blend fabric made designs. She also specializes in manipulating synthetic fibres such as acrylic, polyether or spandex and in applying innovative fabric finishes to clothes.
Due to be held from September 15 to 21, 2014, the semi-annual soiree VFC, which is running into its 25th season, will showcase latest Spring/Summer 2015 lines from more than 60 designers belonging to countries like Colombia, Mexico, India, Norway and Australia.
Expected to be attended by over 25,000 industry insiders, socialites, celebrities, fashion media and buyers, the event will feature creations by Renata Buzzo, the Brazilian designer known for her signature moulage draped custom-made garments, and the Young Parisian Designers Award recipient, French-born talent Laura Laval.
The designers’ line up also includes the Italy’s Istituto Marangoni alumnus Andrea Lazzar as well as French fashion house Givenchy’s design team member Joffrey Mongin.
Also labels like Jaesun Chung (South Korea), Också (by designers Deisi Witz and Igor Bastos), Dawson and Deveraux (led by designer Sophie Karen) and Japanese menswear creator Shinya Yamaguchi will showcase their exquisite creations at the event. (PB)
