The Indian fashion designer Masaba Gupta has teamed up with former West Indian cricketer and her father Sir Vivian Richards to create her debut sportswear line.

Dubbed as Viv x Masaba, the line will be replete with a stylish sporty vibe and is slated to launch sometime next year.

The young designer expressed her excitement for the upcoming joint venture though the social networking platform Twitter, “Excited to share that my sportswear line launching in 2015 will be co-designed by @vivrichards56 !#vivXmasaba #Woot!”

The 62-year-old cricketer also echoed the sentiments through his tweet- “Very proud to be part of of my daughter's new sportswear line. Hope you can all get on board and support in 2015.”

Known for quirky prints with feminine drapes and silhouettes, the ex-creative director of Satya Paul brand, Masaba, is currently helming the Indian online shopping destination Myntra’s ethnic wear label Anouk.

The daughter of Indian actress Nina Gupta forayed into fashion with Lakme Fashion Week 2009’s GenNext show. She won the most promising designer award at the event and a year later in 2010 launched her first flagship store. (PB)
