Michael Kors opens its largest retail store at NYC's SoHo

American fashion designer Michael Kors has opened the largest global retail store featuring the complete range of menswear products from his namesake luxury lifestyle brand.
Located at 520 Broadway in New York's SoHo, the newly unveiled three-story, 22,000-square-foot facility offers men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, footwear and accessories from Michael Kors Collection and MICHAEL Michael Kors labels.
Speaking about the new outlet, the 55-year-old eponymous designer said “I'm very excited to be opening our largest store in the world. New York City is my home and the source of so much of my inspiration as a designer. It’s a thrill to be able to offer my customers here such an amazing shopping experience.”
John D. Idol, chairman and CEO of the brand, also spoke about the new opening, “Retail is the key component of our overall growth strategy, and we are excited to incorporate our growing menswear business into that strategy. We view adding menswear to our existing lifestyle store format as an opportunity to gauge the potential for an expansion of our retail concept.”
“This is the first opportunity for us to present the men’s collection in a complete format, featuring tailored clothing, shirts, ties, sportswear and accessories, in one of our stores. It’s a great platform for the company to build upon its already successful men’s business,” he adds.
The store features a wide assortment of modern sportswear, suede and leather outerwear, including the Broadway suit as well as sportscoats, dress shirts and ties along with popular men’s shoe designs like Graham, Jake and Hudson.
The outlet also includes a shoe salon featuring Michael Kors Jet Set 6, a seasonally updated collection of six essential shoes for women on the go, which includes Irving sneakers, Odessa high heels, Kristen kitten heels, metallic jelly sandals, Somerly wedges and Walton ankle boots, all in multiple colours.
