American apparel and home furnishing retailer JCPenney has come up with new Spring/Summer looks from its vast portfolio of private and exclusive brands including Stylus, Liz Claiborne, Worthington, Arizona and Decree.

Divided into different themes, the seasonal collection’s feminine offering include pieces replete with drape detailing and illusion sheers on a palette of soft yellows, minty greens and rose-hued pinks. The highlights are T-shirts with lace sleeves, and floral-printed belted sleeveless dresses and soft pants.

The sporty section features chic sophisticated outfits incorporated with clean lines, sport-inspired knits and contrasting stripes. The ensembles are soft blazers, sweaters, jogger’s pants and a new line of women’s casual separates called Liz Claiborne Weekend.

The SS range also showcases art-influenced bold graphics and retro-inspired prints on classic silhouettes. Designed in hues of rich citrus and traditional black and white, the major attractions include colour-blocked T-shirts, peplums and cropped pants.

The free-spirited bohemian theme includes flowing yet functional apparel like roll-cuff jeans shorts, vertical lace skirts and long-sleeve envelope-back peasant tops in earthy tones such as indigo and bronze accented by tribal-inspired patterns.

In addition to clothing, women’s shoes have also stepped up in style and function this season, while providing a robust assortment of fashion, comfort and athletic footwear options with addition of performance features such as memory foam and stretch fabrics.

In a media statement, the company’s senior vice president-women’s apparel, Siiri Dougherty, said, “This spring is about bold, colourful and compelling designs that inspire our customers. JCPenney merchant teams partner with our in-house design and trend teams to determine how these looks will come to life in our portfolio of private and exclusive brands.”

“The result is an impressive display of women’s apparel, shoes, handbags and fashion jewellery that work together to create a cohesive collection for spring.” (PB)
