Norwegian-born Peter Dundas, who served Emilio Pucci as creative director since 2008, has been appointed as creative director at Roberto Cavalli, effective immediately.

Dundas, after studying at Parsons in New York, started his career as assistant to Jean Paul Gaultier in 1992. After around eight years, he moved to Christian Lacroix, where he spent two years.

Then he worked as chief designer at Roberto Cavalli from 2002 to 2005, before moving on to work as creative director at Emanuel Ungaro and subsequently joining Emilio Pucci, owned by LVMH. So, in a way it is homecoming for Dundas at Roberto Cavalli.

As creative director, Dundas will oversee all creative direction for the ready-to-wear men’s and accessories collection, as well as licenses. He will also be directly involved in the marketing and communication strategies of the brand. It would “enable a repositioning of the house established by Roberto Cavalli in the early 1970s,” said a company statement. (RKS)
