The luxurious ethnic and Indo-western brand Basil Leaf has unveiled a new Baroque era-inspired range celebrating the classy, feminine and refined dress sense of Roman and Italian women.

Taking inspiration from the traditions, history and artistic legacy of Tuscany and Rome, the collection has been made using pure natural crepe fabric and enhanced with varied prints and unique detailing on front, back and sleeves.

Speaking about the line, designer Neelam Savla stated in a press release, “Designed for the active, cosmopolitan woman, the collection is created keeping in mind the new-age fashion taking inspiration from Baroque period of history.”

“Baroque style may have originated in the 17th century during the renaissance period, but it has made a comeback within the fashion realm,” she adds while talking about her inspiration behind the line.

Initially started as a brand catering solely to girls between the ages of 01 to 14 years in 2011, Basil Leaf now sells womenswear under the name Basil Leaf Women. Known for its exquisite designer ghagra cholis, salwaar suits and gowns, the label is currently sold at 500 multi-brand outlets across country. (PB)
