The founders of New York fashion label Public School, Maxwell Osborne and Dao-Yi Chow have been appointed creative directors at fashion major DKNY.

Osborne and Chow have won two CFDA awards and numerous industry accolades for their street-smart fashion label. Their fast rise into the fashion sphere has caught the eye of Donna Karan, who tapped the designer duo to join DKNY as creative directors.

Together, Osborne and Chow will oversee the men's and women's collections for the brand, in addition to continuing their own projects with Public School.

"We both grew up in New York," the pair said in a statement, "and DKNY has always been part of the landscape of this city in our formative years as designers and New Yorkers. It's one of the brands that helped change the game for us and for American fashion. It evokes everything our city was always about --energy, disruption, new thinking, and transcending boundaries."

Osborne and Chow are joined by Hector Muelas, newly appointed as chief image officer of DKNY. Formerly at Apple, Muelas will bring a new vision to the company's brand image, marketing strategy, and creative services. (SH)
