American luxury lifestyle brand Michael Kors has named Daisuke Yamazaki president of the company's Japanese arm following the retirement of Toshi Tashiro. Yamazaki will report to Stephane Lafay, the company's president for Asia, it said in a press release.

Tashiro will stay on through the end of 2015 in order to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities.

Prior to that he spent 15 years at Giorgio Armani Japan, where he held a variety of positions, including heading sales and merchandising for both the women's and men's lines.
