Pakistan is promoting fashion industry with the hosting of first ever fashion week in December and setting up of a Fashion Council.
Faryal, a Pakistani designer, shared some information on establishing a Fashion Council in the country.
"It is in the pipleine. The designers are holding meetings with the government. Fashion has really developed in Pakistan over the last 5-6 years, there is a need of forming a full-fledged council that takes care of the needs and aspirations of the designers,” says Faryal.
Council will basically aim at mixing textile industry with the fashion world. That is because textile industry is really big in Pakistan, said the 26-year-old designer, based in Lahore.
The Pakistani fashion fraternity shattered some myths about their country's tryst with designer wear. Pakistanis in fact have a liberal outlook and understand and follow modern culture.
