Avon promotes Claudia Poccia as President, effective November 1

World's leading beauty product seller Avon Products Inc announced Claudia Poccia, formerly Senior Vice President and General Manager, stila, has been named President, mark, effective November 1, 2005. She will report to Brian C. Connolly, Executive Vice President and President, Avon North America, and replaces Deborah I. Fine, who left the company in January.
Ms. Poccia, age 45, will lead mark's continuing growth in the United States and spearhead mark's international roll-out as it expands to become a global youth brand of scale. In the second quarter of this year, mark launched in Mexico, its first international market. In 2004, mark achieved sales of $47 million.
Since 1994, Ms. Poccia has held increasingly responsible positions in marketing and sales at The Estee Lauder Companies. Most recently, she was Senior Vice President and General Manager of stila, where she developed and led the company's long-term strategy and implemented marketing initiatives that tripled sales.
Additionally, Ms. Poccia enhanced stila's beauty image with its franchise of 17- to 34- year old consumers while integrating stila with The Estee Lauder Companies' core beauty business. Prior to joining stila in 2000, Ms. Poccia held positions in marketing and sales for Estee Lauder USA and Canada.
Andrea Jung, Avon's chairman and chief executive officer, commented, "We are very pleased to have Claudia assume leadership of mark, which has grown to become one of the top brands for young women in the United States.
