Hush Puppies to grow apparel & accessories leash

The US footwear maker Hush Puppies are looking to diversifying to apparel and accessories in the near future.

Hush Puppies is a division of Wolverine World Wide, which sold 44 million pairs of shoes last year, including 18 million pairs of Hush Puppies, in 120 countries.

It has been established for almost 50 years.
It considers focusing on designing exceptional products, building a retail presence and developing into a complete lifestyle brand.

Company would gradually add apparel lines in each country in the coming years while increasing the number of its outlets by 10 percent every year.

Its apparel trade would account for about 20 percent along with footwear making up the rest.

It has 850 outlets worldwide and will open about 85 next year, half of them in Asia.

Hush Puppies underwear products were introduced in Thailand last year followed with T-shirts, socks and accessories.

Hush Puppies have introduced technologies including Wave Reflect, Bounce and Zero G to help walking easier in shoes that feature flexible designs and light weight.

Company expected sales of all Hush Puppies products in Thailand to reach 320 million baht this year.

Its products are available at about 100 outlets throughout the country.

About 80 percent of the items are imported and the balance made locally by subcontracted manufacturers.
