Trade potential between the two nations are huge especially in gems and jewellery and participation of Pakistani business delegation in “Bangkok gems and jewellery fair 2006” would boost ties further, said Pakistani Ambassador to Thailand, Lt Gen (Retd) Khateer Hasan Khan.
He regretted the fact that bilateral trade between two nations is just US $70-80 millions, below the potential.
Listing out items like agriculture products, textile and leather goods which could also be exported by Pakistan, Khan added that trade could be increased up to $500 million by properly utilizing the trade potential between the two countries.
He said that support of Thailand was needed to promote the gems and jewelry sectors of Pakistan and hoped that Gems and Jewelry fair, 2006 would help in encouraging trade of gems and jewelry between the two countries.
