Imposition of definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of footwear

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 132/2006 of 6 April 2006, the Council of the EU has published a regulation to impose a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of certain footwear with uppers of leather or composition leather originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China.
Product : Footwear with uppers of leather or composition leather, excluding sports footwear, footwear involving special technology, slippers and other indoor footwear and footwear with a protective toecap.
Rate of Duty: 16.5 percent of the net, free-at-Community-frontier price before duty (except for one company whose individual rate is 9.7 percent.)
Effective Date: 7 October 2006.
Duration: Two years.
Collection of Duty: Amounts secured by way of provisional anti-dumping duty imposed since 7 April 2006 will be definitively collected at the rate definitely imposed by this regulation. The amounts secured in excess of the amount of definitive duty shall be released.
