Weight of the models has always been an issue in fashion industry, only difference today is, that the models are slashed not for being little meaty but for being too thin!

People became extremely serious about the health problems created by extreme weight loss, after the sad demise of 22-year old model Luisel Ramos. She was under a strict diet of leafy vegetables and diet coke for three-months, leading to malnutrition and finally death through heart-attack.

However, this incident seems to have opened the eyes of fashion players, as one after the other everyone is backing the protest against too- thin models.

Organizers of Madrid Fashion Week initiated a ban on models with BMI less than 18 and soon ad agencies stopped hiring skinny girls.

Many major Ad firms in Isreal agreed to employ only those with a BMI of 18 or more.

Severe objections were raised at New York's Fashion Week for accepting way-too lean girls.

However, not all seem to be supporting this movement and are presenting varied opinions.

While the executives of retail giant Marks & Spencer does not believe in determining health through BMI, other experts consider it all a media generated hype.

No matter what one thinks, though, models being too-thin, is a fact that raises several health related question.
