A famous luxury product designer Louis Vuitton's new Antigua collection is soon to be enriched by a special edition of five moka canvas bags, created in honor of the Louis Vuitton Acts, the preliminary regattas of the 32nd America's Cup.
Light and practical, they embody the sporting spirit of this prestigious competition, which will continue in Malmö, Sweden, starting August 25.
Each bag comes with a key-ring in the shape of the buoys used in the Louis Vuitton Cup. Cotton straps, in the hemp color of naval rigging, are top-stitched with yellow thread, the House's signature.
On this occasion, the metal plate bears the emblematic logo of the event along with the engraving “Louis Vuitton Cup – Challenger races for the America's Cup”. The plate is no longer gilded, but made of aluminum, as are the studs.
The must-have sailor tote reports for duty with two external pockets that provide ample room for two bottles of champagne.
In a tribute to the world of yachting, the House has translated its famous LV lettering into the nautical alphabet, a fitting signature for this special edition.
The weekend bag has already reached its port of call and can be found in all Louis Vuitton stores. The other models will be available from the end of August.
The America's Cup is coming to Sweden in six weeks in August, but it's certainly not the first time Sweden has been associated with the Cup. Victory Challenge, with its second consecutive attempt at the Cup is one close link this Nordic country has with oldest trophy in sports, but in reality, Sweden's involvement with the America's Cup dates all the way back to 1851.
