“Fimec showed the real leather-work footwear complex, developed not by governmental wishes, from top downwards, like the other industrial complexes in the country, but from bottom up, by the wishes of its own agents and in the best style of emerging countries which generate their own self-made knowledge and construct themselves on top of it."
"Because this complex contains a technological and productive cluster whose comprehensiveness and scope is unique in the world. And this cluster was fully present at the fair. One just needed to walk down its aisles to see the wonderful world where technology and fashion come together in an impressive generation of products for the Brazilian market and for exports,” adds the Fenac director-president.
TRADE ROUNDS – The president of the Brazilian Association of Component Companies for Leather, Footwear and Accessories (Assintecal), Luis Amaral, noted that 650 trade rounds in the sector took place during Fimec. While the Buyer Project offered meetings between the exhibitors and 33 importers from 10 countries, the Brazil Project brought together 40 domestic buyers with the fair exhibitors.
“Fimec exceeded expectations. If just 10% of visitors arrange trade, it will be excellent,” he said, also stressing that it is important to face this challenging time and pressure the government to seek solutions for reducing production costs.
