1001 Retalhos bags line to thematize endangered trees

Brazil has the greatest biodiversity on the planet. However, this natural wealth is being threatened. Brazilian pine, Jacarandá-da-Bahia, Jequitibá, Palmeira-Juçara (hearts of palm) and Brazil Wood are some of our endangered trees. 1001 Retalhos launches the Trees of Brazil collection as part of its work in favor of sustainability and environmental preservation.

It uses recyclable raw materials, canvas, leather, hardware and seeds from the trees to make the five handbag models. Using artisanal techniques, such as patchwork, hand embroidery, crochet and fuxico, the handbags are provided with veritable panels of stylized trees. They receive other adornments with natural seeds, symbolizing the equilibrium of woman and nature.

1001 Retalhos, which already works towards the valuation of Culture and national folklore, now includes the theme Brazil by our hands in the brand, which represents development with the quality of Brazilian arts and crafts, creating exclusive pieces in very good taste.

When purchasing a handbag from the Trees of Brazil collection, the consumer will receive a small cotton bag with some seeds that can be germinated.

There will also be a tag with instructions giving scientific data on the species and explaining how to plant the seeds and why the tree is endangered. The seeds are for the Brazilian pine, Jacarandá-da-Bahia, Jequitibá, Palmeira-Juçara (hearts of palm) and Brazil Wood.

1001 Retalhos will run a campaign interacting with consumers on its site. They will be able to tell about their experience in planting the seeds.

This initiative calls attention to the environmental problem and in a playful manner creating the awareness of the need for preserving the beauty of Brazilian flora and recovering endangered species.
