Las Vegas was the most passionate and powerful place to be for members of the fashion industry from August 27-30, as the MAGIC Marketplace hosted the top retailers, designers and manufacturers from around the globe. More than 120,000 attendees from 80 countries and close to 4,500 companies on display converged to enjoy a unique blend of trends, great entertainment, celebrity fanfare, and an incredible selection of new and established resources across apparel, accessories, footwear, sourcing and contract manufacturing.
“This was one of our most dynamic shows to date,” said Laura McConnell, Executive Vice President of Fashion, Advanstar Communications. “The MAGIC Marketplace provides retailers with the most diverse spectrum of resources in the industry. Our greatest gift is our ability to connect and inspire the fashion community, and it is significant that 70 percent of the fashion retail industry was represented.”
MAGIC (including WWDMAGIC, MAGIC kids and Sourcing at MAGIC), PROJECT and Pool showcased trends, welcomed celebrities and spotlighted causes important to the fashion industry. Highlights included:
"MAGIC continues to prove that it is a reflection of what's happening in the industry,” said Chris McCabe, Vice President and General Manager of MAGIC. “What you see on the floor across men's, women's, kids and sourcing is what you'll see in stores and in apparel manufacturing in the next six months.”
Once again, celebrities heated up the marketplace.
